Van the Man's Irish Heartbeat especially the Inarticulate Speech version is just perfect.

The lyrics are lovely, and just a fantastic wee song. Probably should try and get to see him someday, but he does sound a bit of a loose cannon.

Geordie folk legend, Johnny Handle: geologist, multi-instrumentalist, and actually worked down the pit before they all closed. (I knew him growing up in Northumberland through my Dad.)



And yes, Wylam was probably canny at one stage - there's now a co-op.
It has got a wicked model of Stephenson's Rocket, though. 8)
