Bah humbug !!
Totally different ball game when you have 3 young grandkids
It isn't at all.
It's still a shitfest of false bonhomie and over indulgence for the sake of it.

Last Friday I did a night out in Fort William after getting the Caledonian Sleeper train up. Not for the faint hearted

Nice one, Zippy and Merry Christmas/Nollieg Creidheil (mar tha sin air an eilean/since you're on the island).
Fort William like a wild west town still? And still nothing to eat after 11pm apart from the 24hr petrol station for a Gingsters or a Ronnie Irani Yazoo shake?
Have a good one, pal!

First of all let me say Merry Christmas to those that celebrate Christmas & Happy Holidays to those that don't. I for religious reasons do not celebrate it, but I still wish my friends and work colleagues the best for this time of year.
On Christmas day we as a family get together and sit round and have a nice meal together as Christmas day is the only day that one of us is not at work or having to do anything else. After the meal we watch a film on TV and then drive up to London to see the sights. Even though we know London well and the girls are grown up we still love just driving round enjoying the lights. We normally park up on a side street and then go for a walk round the historical sights.
You will be amazed at how packed it gets as so many tourists are in London and what with all the restaurants being open it makes for a fun atmosphere.

I know a lot of Muslims who use the day for their own family experience and fair play to them. Come tomorrow morning I'll get lots of merry Christmasses from muzzies as well.
Whether you celebrate the core principle or not, a very Merry Christmas to you.

I must admit the girls and I love Christmas time and watch Elf, The Santa Clause, Miracle On 34th Street, Home Alone and of course Die Hard. To me its about family, but I do believe it's now more about commercialism.
