Zimbabwe

Post by kancutlawns »

Anyone genuinely give a shit about the African basketcase with all the crackdown on protesters, escalating fuel prices and the violence that comes with it or does the country not matter as the western bogeyman Mugabe's no longer in power?

It was a lot more organised and safer under British rule. People don’t care what happens there after the way they treated farmers

Typical pig ignorance from someone who a thirty year old going on sixty five who doesn’t understand the brutality to the natives from colonisers who pillaged and mineral wealth and paid henchmen, local militias and warlords to brutalise the locals.

Do you really think it’s acceptable that people are being murdered because “no one cares after how they treated farmers”?

“Mutambara said that oppression during the former minority white Rhodesian government was better than that under the current administration of President Robert Mugabe.

This states that there was oppression under the MINORITY WHITE RHODESIAN GOVERNMENT. You also know that Mugabe’s not there don’t you? What you’ve pasted is from a SINGLE veteran farmer.

"Ian Smith was indisputably a cruel man. He killed thousands of freedom fighters, but he was a better manager of the economy than Mugabe. The facts speak for themselves"

In other words, he was a white supremacist & murderous dictator in Africa who refused to move to a more democratic system, whose position became unsustainable.

That’s one persons perspective. He freely admits the country was better run than under Mugabe

But he could send his three children to school and rent decent accommodation in a middle-class suburban area.

Looks like he fell upon hard times as people do when they lose their livelihoods through one reason or another yet yearns for the times of an Apartheid-like regime that systematically brutalised the majority populace.

When an Imperial powers leaves chaos almost always follows. So I’m not excusing Mugabe. He was a monster. Anyone who says that proves imperialism is a better option is totally missing the point.

I have empathy for the trying to win more political agency.
