Hope Woakes gets picked for the next test. He may just have shaded it. We need someone with the gloves who can keep wicket though.

Brilliant win but a bit of me wanted Pakistan to win. Fear it might be a routine 3-0 whitewash now.

Yep. Butler is a top class cricketer but only an average WK. Got away with it this time and he made up for his errors with a superb knock.

Woakes made his test debut against the Aussies in 2013

Wonder how many remember the other English debutant in the same test ?

Just about the worst case of nerves I can remember from a sportsman on the big stage. Simon Kerrigan could barely get the ball to pitch on the square and his 8 overs went for 53. Never played for England again, career ruined,.Left Lancy in 2018 and from nowhere signed for Northants yesterday

Wouldn't have lost a single minute if the test was at OT

BBC highlights coverage is shite. Too much time spent on analysis and summaries. Dot balls also a plenty. Could easily cut down to 30 mins.

Good old Zak reaching 200. More pleasing was wearing a cricket sweater when doing so. Bewtiful Mike.

310 to avoid an innings defeat. 2 days to bowl them out. Series in the bag. Who's excited for the Twenty-20 games ?

Good to see cricket back on terrestrial television but the coverage is dire. Vaughan and Tufnell hopeless and I gave up and went back to Sky when Guha could barely get a question to Jimmy Anderson out, no doubt about some banal subject.

Good they've got current players in Anderson and Shan on but Sky leaps ahead, as expected.
