Lancy beat Derbyshire by 10 wickets in less than 2 days playing time.
Jimmy Anderson has taken 28 wickets at an average of 8.64 this season.

Out injured, very unlikely to play against Ireland and the Ashes only a month away.

Probably ends his chances of getting his 600th test wicket this summer.
Surprised the ECB have let him play as many games as he has this season

Assuming results go as planned today it's shaping up to be an Essex - Somerset duel for the title this summer. Certainly if Essex don't make it, I'd love to see Somerset finally get the top prize in domestic cricket.

Weird that we have county cricket this weekend. Probably one of the few watching Essex instead of England today. Crucial two matches - Yorkshire - Somerset and Essex - Warwickshire.
Early wickets for us were much needed given our poor batting yesterday.

Some of you do. Most games starting on Saturday, Leicestershire start on Monday.

Good stuff from the Essex bowlers.
Can't see Somerset winning their game, given that Yorks are 350-odd for 6.

I'm genuinely surprised all matches weren't moved to Monday, much as I think we need MORE weekend county cricket.

Typical ECB scheduling really. Little to no weekend cricket when they could get good crowds yet play matches during the World Cup final when there was a great chance England would be involved.

Day/night cricket? The pink ball?

Apologies to Lou for sullying the CCS thread with one day stuff, but just noticed Essex scored 226 in a 20/20 game reduced to 15 overs.

Watched some cricket at Trent Bridge last Saturday. Very dodgy pitch with spinners dominating and easily over in 3 days. Nice ground and a civilised day out.

It's all county cricket - even if I don't generally bother with the blast. Mind you, Essex generally don't either.
