The only way to protect the poor and the elderly is to stop the licence fee altogether .
It's well overdue.

The only way to stop this corrupt organisation is to act together, and stop paying the fee.

How much could be raised by a few adverts; not interrupting programmes, but between prime time popular ones. A couple of minutes of advertising would be infinitely preferable to the interminable trailers and dancing hippopotami.
And am I not mistaken but the BBC does slip in the odd advert for its own publications.

Yes, and don't forget that they already have Gary Lineker and Chris Packham advertising their political campaigns.
Remain and PETA should be paying for the free airtime they get.

So I'm presuming it would be a subscription service or, like ITV, funded by advertising?

On a tangent, I really can't see how the BBC justifies paying the so called stars the vast amounts it does, I reckon that a football fan would still watch MOTD if a bloke on 250k did it instead of the one being pain over one and a half million.

A couple of years ago it was rumoured that one of the options was to close 5live completely. That thought horrified me then, now it would be a mercy killing, the craven surrender to the baying twatterati in sacking Danny Baker was the final straw.

It slips in a lot more than that, I don't watch it but there is a cooking programme on Saturday morning which recommends certain wines and tell you how much it is and where to buy it, if that isn't advertising I don't know what is.
As to your first point, I don't know if they still do it, but many years ago we visited relatives in Italy and the adverts had a slot in between programmes, don't recall how long it was but about 5 minutes I think, no break in the programme and long enough for a lavvy break or to open another bottle of Vino Collapso.

52% of those asked wanted to scrap free TV licences for the over 75s... so the will of the people must be respected.

Saying which I think Sky do a much better job on football and I'm pretty sure that none of them are earning as much as Hampster face boy with his euro politics and walkers crisps .

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the TV licence something that MP's can claim for in their second home expenses?
An MP is paid nigh on £75k a year plus some of them claim more than that in expenses, but still begrudge an OAP a TV licence.
Even Cleggover was averse to claiming his free licence.

Claims made by Nick Clegg were even higher at £152,553.82, again with most going towards the running of the deputy prime minister's office. The Liberal Democrat leader received £12,688.01 in expenses, including £9,767.41 for accommodation and bills, and £2,920.60 for travel and subsistence. Within that, he claimed for a £145.50 television licence and five first-class train journeys.

They need to further impoverish the elderly as much as everyone else to continue their champagne life styles ,and the recent D day events reminded the socialist fat cats that many of those who took part might still be alive and able to pay out for this

"As a couple in this still very white Germany, we are exposed in a way,"

Why is this type of comment always (on bbc-type media at least) always presented as a negative state of being?
The implication being that 'they' can't wait until the 'very white' areas are a thing of the past.
Can anyone imagine the outrage if the aspiration were aimed at some african or asian countries?
Anyone (such as Tick) that uses 'gammon' as a racial pejorative is as much a racist as those who use the word nigger and similar pejoratively.

Clearly a desire to turn predominantly white and successful countries into non white countries
