Well, she's still the PM, and on this occasion she is speaking for a lot of the public. It is quite right that the BBC should tell us why they are backing her, and I'm afraid, oh it was just a joke won't do.

Politicians, whoever they are, should be free to walk freely around without having anything thrown at them, let alone acid.

This one will run for a bit, and I see the BBC might be realising they have fucked up.

After 3 years of trying to stop democracy they're calling for democracy in the conservative elections.
After shutting down any comedian who slightly offends their political dogma, they want free speech for comedians who call for horrible violence against BREXIT .
After decades of calling everyone else racist , they get proven to be anti Semitic but their response is typified by someone claiming I'm anti Semitic because I criticised ONE non practising Jew after spending years arguing with the same people for fairness towards Israel and Jews in general.

How much longer is society going to give in to their childish tantrums and tricks in an effort to defend the indefensible ?

The problem now of course is that we have to all intents and purposes, already lost freedom of speech, ever since a previous government (genuinely can't remember which and can't be bothered to check) introduced 'hate speech laws', wherein just about anyone and anything can be a victim of a hate crime (except probably white straight males).
So now it's all down to interpretation as to what is and isn't a hate crime (or incitement to commit), and as the establishment seems to be wishy washy liberal, it's not difficult to see why those of us on the right (ie pro-brexit these days) have more to moan about than those on the left.
