I think Walt is referring to the old Intercontinental Cup that United won in 99 , beating Palmeiras .They competed in two versions,
with the new FIFA, 8 team affair that United dumped the F.A. Cup for in January 2000.
The final of that was contested between two Brazilian teams.
Though no one can win the Fairs Cup either, that Newcastle and Leeds won in the 60s in that logic .
