They won the Grand Slam, fair enough, but they lost in the semis of the World Cup - how the fuck does that make him a contender for an award like this? Mental. As daft as when Giggs won it, turning the comp into a long-service award

I honestly thought he was a football commentator.

Mainly because he's Welsh. Beeb couldn't have 6 English nominees for sure. And yes I know Stokes was born in NZ.

Wales did win 5 out of 5 in the Six Nations and lost to the WC winners in the semi. He was the Captain. Obviously if England had won then Farrell would of replaced him. You normally get a rugby player so can’t think who else they could of chosen.

Ben Stokes is a tattooed inbred thugofacunt. There is no fucking way the dopey limp-wristed BBC will allow him to win.

He will win easily, carc. The two women athletes will split votes and despite St. RaRa being the greatest man alive, Stokes will win.

Hamilton should be ruled out immediately. All the rest have achieved using their own bodies, and not sat in a fucking car.

Won a World Cup Final with a solid batting display, and won an Ashes Test single-handed with a display to which only Botham is comparable.

Only six? If it were ten I'd stake my life on someone "transitioned" being on there.
