Re: 2020 World Darts Championship (Dec 13 - Jan 1)
The silver is named The Sid Waddell Trophy.
Your reigning champion is, correctly, Mighty Mike. He won Number 3 last (this) year beating the other Michael in the final, that flopping Smith toddler. You'll notice from this list of PDC Word Champions that MvG is yet to retain a Sid. Surely the only box left unticked.
There'll be a LOT said about van Barneveld this year so have a bag handy. He is retiring after this tournament. 13 years since he won it in what many call the greatest game.
1994 - Dennis Priestley def Phil Taylor 6-1
1995 - Phil Taylor def Rod Harrington 6-2
1996 - Phil Taylor def Dennis Priestley 6-4
1997 - Phil Taylor def Dennis Priestley 6-3

I miss Phil,He's still wasted doing Expos
I have greatest respect for Rugby Union, they started it mid-way through the 19th century. Thankfully we grabbed it and turned it into a spectacle on 29th August 1895
