Fuck it. Get Jess Phillips in. The Labour Party cannot go any lower. Jess will tear Boris a new hole. I cannot stand the woman, but she does have energy, aggression and a chip-on-her-shoulder. Fuck it. Let's go. There's nothing to lose now.

And so, history repeats itself. Labour have learnt nothing.

After the humiliating and laughable 2019 election defeat, which Labour clearly brought on themselves, they need to ask some searching questions:
1. Is the Labour party still relevant in the 21st century? After all, the clue is in the name.
2. Should we continue to favour militants, NHS workers, BAME communities, students and the bourgeois middle classes, or focus on pragmatic and sustainable policies for the whole country?
3. What is our clear stance on Brexit?
4. Does the average British citizen want Socialism and Communism? Do these ideologies work?
5. Do we believe in anti-Semitism?

Rebuilding the party could take at least 10 years, possibly 20, and unless Momentum are removed, reconstruction may take longer than last time. In the meantime, the party will hope that the Conservatives retract and / or break their pledges. Boris must deliver Brexit and the Tories' domestic promises.
Interestingly, only a handful of former Corbynite luvvies and Labour MPs have publicly recognised their failure. Momentum, however, are here to stay:

Corby's done a speech today ahead of his defeat in the vote and he just reiterated everything he said before the election .
Added to that, he's coming across as nasty ,bad tempered and frankly a bit demented.

He doesn't seem to accept reality, including the reality that he should go - despite his vague undertaking to do so at some undefined point in the future.

There's no doubt that he's actively harming his party now, and I think they'd be well advised to get rid of him urgently

John Mann deserves the same sort of contempt with his constant haranguing, virtue signalling and faux card waving in front of the cameras.

RLB is in trouble for using the term 'progressive patriotism'

The English have an odd relationship with nationalism, patriotism and race - uniquely so in my experience. I can't think of anywhere in Europe where a politician wouldn't feel comfortable making a patriotic case without feeling they need to prefix with something to make it less offensive.

Lol. "'Progressive patriotism'?! That ain't real Labour! She's Blue Labour! REEEEEE!!!!"

Rebecca Long Bailey's article is silly, though.

Rebecca Long Bailey: Shows a photograph of working class coal miners with the caption ‘from ex-miners in Blyth Valley to migrant cleaners in Brixton, we have to unite our communities.’
Also Rebecca Long Bailey: We need a bold, transformative solution to the climate crisis.

The "climate crisis" isn't an issue for ex-miners and migrant cleaners, love!

Glad to see Sargon back to what he does best - commentary.

The worst thing he could have done was join a party and become political - especially UKIP in it's then current state.

His Wiki entry before he embarrassed himself over the Jess Phillips affair was something along the lines of his real name followed by 'he seems to be right in everything he says' , mainly because everything he did say was cited.

He's right here too.

The Labour leadership election is like watching a slow train crash. All they need is a team that can slap Johnson around for the next few years, they aren't going to have a shot for ten years of getting the Tories out.

Lisa Nandy or Jess Phillips would give Johnson a hard time, but looks like they'll end up with RLB, Keir Starmer or the comedy option of Ian Lavery.

Progressive patriotism means exactly what the Marxist left under Corbyn always thought it meant, and it isn't anyone else's idea of patriotism. It's yet more anti English, anti male, anti white , anti straight , anti rich social justice which they incorrectly think the whole country is behind.

Outside of their bubble, no one wants it.
