Therein lies the quandary - if one of the medical team were due to be deported, should they get special dispensation, based on who they treated? Either way, it would create a media shitstorm.

Sadly Darky, it wouldn’t.

The reason Johnson and his cronies are getting away with their chronic mishandling of the crisis is because the media in this country don’t hold the Tories to account for anything.

Forget public relations. There’s a list of real problems that need sorting out fast.

The bodies are piling up & NHS staff don’t even have basic equipment they need.

If we don't see pay rises and massive investment in the NHS that video will be used to beat him.
I'd still like him to say he was a complete tit to shake hands with people and wander around with his ministers. I suppose it's not that important in the long term, but it was an incredibly reckless thing to do and I get the impression, given the amount of bastards he has sired, he is quite a reckless man. Let's hope he has a Road to Damascus moment and the NHS is sorted-out.

PS. When is this Xmas theme going? I can barely type.

They were pushing the idea of herd immunity to deal with Coronavirus. They appear to have changed their mind but it cost valuable time.

The Tories are not "getting away with their chronic mishandling of the crisis" at all. I've posted a few links to show that:

No doubt, I could have found plenty of others, had I the time and inclination to do so.

Good on those journalists for calling out this Government’s frightening incompetence.

Unfortunately they’re the exception not the rule.

The Government’s 'herd immunity' quackery in the early weeks of this pandemic will cost many lives.

Why a weirdo like Dominic Cummings had any input on health policy is a total mystery to me.

The only thing he learnt at his expensive private school was to be an obnoxious know it all.

People are dying as a result of him being prompted to the top of Government - and then making eccentric decisions before a pandemic hit the U.K. In fairness he’s not on his own.

I’m glad Boris is on the mend but he’s ultimately responsible. I don’t think he realises what a sinister figure Cummings is.

I read somewhere it's due to the 'Machismo Culture' that now pervades Downing Street. Which is okay for all those at No. 10 who can convalescence at their country pile, but not so good for the poor who are huddled together is sub-standard squalid housing.

Johnson is desperate to avoid detail. It has characterised him his whole life.
The appeal to him of Cummings is that HE does the detail.
What that detail is, is of secondary interest to Johnson.
It's an appalling aspect of someone in his position, but that's what we have got.
And if any of the vegetables in the Cabinet tried to object, they know Cummings can finish them.

Not sure who's doing the detail if anyone. It certainly isn't Cummings who is more of a Communications/PR man or political strategist. Aren’t the details supposed to be done by ministers and policy researchers?

Further to thousand of household up and down the country doing a 'let's all give the NHS the clap" , I was wondering if any of you would be willing to muster up a few bods to have a mass clap in for the current government, and in particular Boris at 8pm tonight?

I'm trying to get some fireworks organised and a street barbie and I think the turnout might be quite good round by me given their landslide victory. Support is massive and they our out in front even when you add up all the other party's popularity combined.

It's not much but it would show our appreciation for the fact they are the ones in charge and thankfully not that rag tag and bobtail communist outfit they crushed at the last election.

At 8PM tonight. Let's hear it for Boris and the Tories.

Daily Mail accusing the government of letting old people die is bound to spur Johnson back early.

Wow!
The Daily Heil slagging off the Tories is unprecedented.
Looks like Boris won't have a chilled-out week quaffing wine at Chequers and will actually have to do some work while he convalesces…

This is why we need Officers in perilous times.
It's more important to inspire the nation than anything else in times like this.
It's not the time to list the problems ,which are many, but to prevent despair.
