It's funny, but the teams that make the best cars can pick whichever drivers they like. They just happened to have chosen Hamilton. I wonder why…

I'm surprised Hamilton get's all the flack he does (not), okay he makes a few odd lifestyle choices but you'd think the nation would be behind him for beating the German's almost unobtainable record. As for the best car debate no-one thought that of Schumacher, it was acknowledged he dragged Ferrari through it's most successful period and you can say that about Hamilton and Mercedes, he joined in 2013 and they've been winning the Constructor's ever since.

Hamilton is one of the finest F1 drivers of all time, but sadly a few small-minded people get irrationally angry that he wears earrings

He's an alpha male in the truest sense and soon to be the GOAT, drives the fastest car the fastest and has done so for years and has the wealth to match. He could have the pick of who he'd like I suspect anytime anywhere, I'd make some very dodgy lifestyle decisions in his situation 'cept maybe his cornrows which are the desperate act of balding man.

Mazepin? Queer choice (Russian money aside) as he's quite the average driver..I'd have thought Callum Ilott would have come up with Schumacher.

Brilliant drive and achievement, not a huge fan of the sport as a spectacle but this is the first race of the season I felt compelled to watch. Hamilton didn't have the best car, he wasn't the fastest and still came through while his team mate came 14th in an identical car.

I think the new regs will put everyone on a more level playing field next year..but for now,he is without question the best driver in the world.

Part-time fans are always suggesting "improvements" to even things up .... reverse grids, spraying parts of the track with water and so on.
