So what Wayne's logic suggests is that players' wages should be doubled in this hour of need. 'And what about the big stars from other sports, who are able to avoid tax by living in places like Monaco — why are they not getting called out? Why aren't all the wealthy being forced to contribute extra? Wouldn't that raise more money?'
Poor Wayne. Boo hoo hoo. Is there no end to this mans lack of self-awareness?
Good old Wayne, the working mans footballer who went on the piss for a week before a World Cup to make sure he gave it his all for the country

Didn't Rooney send a hotel porter with a huge wad of cash to buy a pack of ciggies for him ?

Presumably Gordon has a lot of fucking dirt on people at the FA and in football in general. Let's be honest, there must be quite a lot of it.

Interesting article by Martin Samuel. Hard to know what truth there is in it but what is pretty clear is that football is on its what to a financial disaster. I’m afraid sympathy is going to be in short supply.

It's a bit like when there's a stock-market crash ... it's called a 'correction'. Football has been living beyond its means with noses firmly in the trough for at least 10 years. Hope the whole thing goes tits-up and it can all start again with some parity.

No. Del, it isnt...well maybe it might be to the mega clubs, but personally speaking it would be the most cynical, sickening time and it would be the final nail in the coffin for me with top flight football. And I would wish nothing but ruin and disaster on all those taking part.
