Southgate needs to be sacked and a real manager needs to be parachuted in. Pep, Anchelotti or better still some disgruntled ex French manager who knows the team inside out. Just for the remainder of the tournament. Time to be BOLD.

He has after all, got a 100% win rate for England. It’d be the redemption story to end all redemption stories. Nothing could go wrong as far as I can see. 😎

To be honest having a mince pie with the world cup is on is a bit unusual.

Not well enough to know that it’s Cobham
Harsh, well I said quite well. You'll know the sister village is only a few miles away then, I used to grab the odd Xmas tree from the common back in day in the very earl morning with 15ft of it hanging out the back of the car.
Yes, very close to each other and it can get confusing. Cobham is the more upmarket of the two but both are nice places.

So lovely to hear that great intellect and progressive FIFA representative Arsene Wenger say that all the teams that tried to highlight human rights abuses played poorly. What a great man he is.

I mean you'd have to be living under a fucking rock not to understand that this is a transactional World Cup ... Qatar has paid 300billion quid to get people to say nice things about them.

So much for "easy" routes to the final, though. Every team in the knock-out round starts off equal, as Brazil and Portugal found out to their cost.

As I write this we're at the semi-finals, and my guess is that the broadcasters have made it clear to FIFA that if the final is Croatia-Morocco they'll want their money back ... if you see what I'm getting at.

I never do though.
