The next manager’s going onto be on a hiding to nothing. No way would Conte, Zidane or any other sexy name on the continent would risk going with all the chaos and fucking up their kudos. Going to take a couple of years and a two or three managers before there’s stability and they get in the top eight. The point I was trying to make, in my dim way, is that some of us just go to watch the football.
I genuinely don't see how anyone can get real pleasure out of watching a random collection of the most expensive players on the planet winning trophies, just because they happen to be wearing your team's strip.
It's as if Southgate were able to put the Brazil 1970 team in England shirts. Yeah, they'd probably win something, but would it be "England" winning?
