The complaint against Andrew asked for a jury trial, so I'm not sure what Andrew is demanding a jury trial was already on the cards.

I think the general consensus was that he would pay her off and get the trial dropped, Vespa.

Instead he's decided to have his day in court. He's ever brave or stupid, I suspect the latter.

Given his Emily Matlis interview, hard to imagine he will redeem himself under cross examination in the dock.

He seems to be hanging his hat on the fact that there are multiple court documents where Virginia Roberts has stated she didn't sleep with him. He'll likely also bring up that during the Maxwell trial one of the victims testify claimed Roberts was part of the grooming operation.

What I don't understand is why the US government hasn't pushed for a criminal trial where Andrew is possibly an accessory to a sex trafficking operation. This is a federal offence isn't it?

Because they don't have a criminal case. Andrew hasn't been convicted of anything and the only person claiming he slept with Epistiens victims is Virginia Roberts and even those claims are countered by Virginia Roberts saying she never slept with him.

If he didn't shag her, then he's not guilty. If I wasn't guilty I wouldn't be paying anyone off. There is nothing apart from word against word. I'd be toughing it out.

A trial for Andrew would be damaging if he was found guilty or innocent hence the payoff. I was amazed that she's now claiming the original of the famous picture taken of him cuddling her has been lose, given she leaked it to all the press. The whole thing is shady from both sides.

Because he knows trail evidence would be a circus that he'll never recover from. That's why most famous people just settle these cases.

So Andy's given bags of dosh to someone he claims to have never met, in response to her allegations of sexual assault which he refutes, and it seems the agreement doesn't stop her from talking about the allegations.

Way to go, Andy. That definitely clears your name.

The settlement is said to have a non disclosure clause as to the amount paid in respect of something which never happened to a woman he has never met and who isn't in the photo with him.
A woman from LA, who is, I think, a lawyer specialising in such cases, said that she estimates the sum paid to be in the £10m mark.
Now, as the money is said to be given to the charity run by the complainant, and I'm assuming that charity laws, albeit perhaps, different to those in the UK, allow publication of the charity accounts which have, again I'm assuming, by law, to be audited and made public, wouldn't a 'donation' of several million dollars/pounds stand out like a chapel hat peg, and it may be safe to assume that that amount is what Randy Andy forked out.

Charities can accept active anonymous donations as long as the trustees confirm that the donation is legal. They aren't obligated to name the donor.

I don't do sums much but watching the news it seems this is going to cost shedloads, on top of the estimated £10m in settlement his costs are estimated at between 5 and 6 million quid, it seems her lawyer was doing if for free, even with the sale of his Swiss chalet (there's a misnomer, it's a bloody mansion) which. it seems, he's having to sell to pay the $9m he still owes on it, the estimate is that he'll still be about £10m short, so I expect mummy's purse will have to be opened.
It seems that Giffre has asked for an undisclosed sup for herself, probably a few million.

Bet he wishes he'd never met Epstien, Maxwell or Roberts and paid a Soho hooker instead.

I have no doubt that the 'charity' wont disclose who the 'donor' is, but anyone looking at the accounts and seeing a jump of several million will no doubt form their own view on where it came from.
