I do not think any political tribe comes out of this looking good, but the unquestioning defence of drumpf and Republicans by the alt right on this matter gives me the impression they care more about political capital than in getting justice for the victims of confirmed and alleged crimes.

the alt right is everyone now, especially in this country. People by and large are rejecting communism and fascism that wokism brings en masse.
