Erm, do you know how much Man City have spent on players over the past five seasons? They should win the league every year if that's the only criteria.

Manchester United too but them winning the prem is too much to contemplate.

Without wanting to go all Arsenal knobhead “net spend”, if you actually look at United’s incoming vs outgoing transfer fees it equates to roughly £70m per season (almost as though there’s a strict budget which Ed Woodward keeps quiet about). So trying to compete with a club like City who are able to repeatedly piss away £50m on fullbacks is a tall order.

I’ve never disliked Spurs, always had a bit of a soft spot for them. Their games were always entertaining even when they were shite and they generally had some decent players. Also White Hart Lane was one of my favourite grounds in England, proper old school stadium and kept a good atmosphere.

Also, probably the fact they were the yin to the yang of Arsenal fans, probably the most insufferable self-righteous cunts in English football. The twats go on as though they invented good football in the British game, talk about it being the “Arsenal way” while conveniently forgetting years of grinding out results and 1-0 to the Arsenal.

Sadderz, they’ve improved and become a force underJose and taken turn to a higher level than when they had Poch which is quite an achievement. I thought he was finished in top level management even at United but he’s bought well and brought players like Sissoko and Lo Celso on well.

It’s good to see more competition. My point was Spurs have not really been a force to be reckoned with until quite recently. Always been a stylish club but since the 1980s have flattered to deceive. Levy’s considered to be a right cunt by Steve and many of the other Spurs fans but he’s putting his money where his mouth is but Bale was a bit of a mindfuck bringing him here.

Mourinho doesn’t appear to particularly want him and he’s presumably costing them a fortune in wages, something I wouldn’t have expected from Levy as I assume he’d have known Bale would be a bit-part player under Jose.

See also Campbell, Lauren, Winterburn and Petit. You’re right about Bergkamp, he was one of the biggest dickheads going.

They were always dirty, snide bastards during the years when they were good under Wenger. Fine, the best teams would always have to outfight the opponent if necessary.
