Brentford kicking off the new season against Wycombe Wanderers at their new Community Stadium. The Bees just taking a 1-0 lead. Looks like Watkins and Benrahma will be getting firm bids and will leave shortly.

EFL cup. We play them next week in the opener at home and after yesterday's defeat by Cambridge, I expect a hiding.

I’d like to say that we are up and coming world beatersImage

But we ain’t, we’ll be a mid table L2 side, so let’s hope the blues had an off day.

An unexpected win against last season't play off finalists Brentford, and Karanka adding Scott Hogan on a permanent move to his 7 previous signings, using some of the money we got for Jude Bellingham, makes for a promising situation. The Neil Etheridge signing from Cardiff was particularly pleasing.

4 from Brentford and Swansea. Would have jumped at that after last season. Is Karanka the leader we have been desperate for? Too early to say, but he's forming a decent squad.

He will do what he did at Boro , tough defensive players , very little flair in the side but very organised , makes for 1-0 wins , then went up & was out of his depth ,only knows 1 way to play .

Mikel San Jose from Athletic Club Bilbao and Jack Clarke from Spurs signings should be finalised today.

The squad is almost unrecognisable from last season, and thank the Lord for that.
