Should parents only have children if they can afford to feed them, or is it the governments responsibility to pay for a child food until they’re 18?

Who's suggesting that the government should pay to feed a child until they're 18? :? Far more to bringing up a child than just feeding them.

You're right, it should be illegal for people to have kids unless they have a license from the government. Any children born without a license should be starved to death - it's only fair.

Parents who lose jobs or face lowering economic fortunes years after having children shouldn't be penalised. They'll need some support in such circumstances until back in employment.

We're already seeing a declining birth rate in Europe. Ideologies like the OPs wont help with that.

They have no support in the third world but have a soaring birth rate

Not sure what that has to do with the UK.

It's interesting that you have to have a licence to drive a car, but not to produce a child and care for it for 18 years.
I don't just mean financially, but emotionally and educationally.
Strange that very few people have any training in being a parent.

Parental responsibility is, by and large, a human instinct. Good parents make sacrifices.
The problem is, today too many parents want it all: the career, the kids, the holidays, Orla Kiely furniture. Forget teenage social pressure, apparently social pressure amongst parents, especially mothers, is terrible. Lots of bitchiness and competition.

Why would someone necessarily need training to have children? Do you need training to look after yourself and make yourself a responsible adult? It comes through personality, upbringing, self initiative, communication, peer group and parental influences. Problem is that some idiots think children are a commodity.

Incredible how all the bleeding heart liberals jumping on the St Marcus of Wythenshawe bandwagon have never thought of implementing this policy throughout all the years their parties were in power.
