My father in law is a fat racist dickhead but he does make a nice turkey. Soaks it in lemon water and then wraps it in bacon to cooks.

Fortunately he then gets pissed up and has to go to bed early leaving the rest of us to have an enjoyable evening :-)

I had turkey once for Xmas never again, worlds dullest protein imo cooked badly once a year just doesn't appeal. Although I appreciate it's ok smoked but then so is shoe leather. Not sure who tf is coming this Xmas but I'll try and knock up a porchetta or get a rib of beef although not much point for just four people if folks aren't coming around or isolating.

But now I’m here... we’re having dry-aged beef rib.

Picked it up from the butcher this week, and he said there had been so much demand that hadn’t been able to cover all his regulars - and had to turn away “a celebrity”...
I'm sorry, Mesut. I'm terrible with those pronunciations of Near East Christmas foods.

My Mouflon roast arrived the other day from https://www.keziefoods.co.uk/Catalogue/ ... otic-Meats

I also ordered two Elk steaks which I had tonight, and they were excellent.

That’s a great idea. Fuck the steak and mash, I’ll treat him to a takeaway curry

I bet they were.
Years ago, camping at a farm in north Norway, the farmer fed us some - he shot one a year on his land. Delicious.

Deer, in general, is wonderful, elk is a real treat.
