Does Corbyn honestly believe that the average working class lad or lass in the North would become culturally enlightened after reading his little red book of poetry?

Here's Catweazle's brother also having a totally normal one. He's probably just Jeremy after a few drinks.

Makes you wonder what exactly went on in that household growing up.

Yes! After an evening of shoegazing at O2 Academy Islington.

The resignations include jess Phillips, who was no corbyn ally by any stretch of the imagination. This is about people going with their conscience.
Jess Phillips is an overhyped MP who has achieved little of note. She is probably worried about losing her seat more than anything else.
Didn't even know tombstone teeth had anything to resign from

Only 50% of voters in her constituency identified as white in the 2021 census. 35% identified as Asian, 6% as black and 5% as mixed or multi ethnic. If you think her vote was cast out of principle, then god help you

Tawdry stuff. You might not think much of it but she is or was well regarded on both sides of the house with her work towards getting the Domestic Abuse bill passed as well as her continuing and persistant work in that area as shadow minister for domesic violence.

On the voting side she has a large majority so not much danger of losing her seat no matter what side she takes ergo she voted with her head, heart and constituents or what you might call principle.

Phillips has consistently shat the bed in key moments. She couldn't even define what a woman was a few months ago. A so-called left wing feminist who has sided with socially conservative opinion in her constituency. She has said absolutely nothing about the mass rape of women and girls on October 7. There's plenty worse in the Labour party but Phillips is not all that, despite what the chattering classes would have us believe.

Tellingly the majority of her resignation letter was about her. She's in it for herself and doesn't fancy losing out on the £85k a year, as unlikely as that is given her majority. Even her resignation was quite soft, probably to initiate a comeback somewhere down the line once Labour are in government.Kim Leadbeater was far more courageous on this issue.

Dragging her or the party down to the depths of the opposition getting in a tiz over what defines a female, glad she didn't fall for it. As for October 7 and what she should or should not have said, atm it's an accusation just like the current war crimes and genocide undertaken by Israel in this illegal war. Again with the vapid charge of losing out on her £85k salary, she gets that whether shes a minister or not and as you acknowledge she's in a safe seat no matter. Leadbeater took the easy option by treading the party line, nothing courageous about that.

Over 50 Labour MP's defied a 3 line whip and voted for an SNP amendment asking for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
It was made known that any Labour front bencher who deified the whip would be sacked, Yasmin Qureshi resigned before the vote saying she would vote for the amendment, others got sacked, so the question is, why haven't the other 50 odd Labour MP's who defied the Whip not had the Whip taken away, making them Independents.
