Thank you for sharing, Lead-o.
Hopkins is utterly unhinged.
Twice she said that Belfield was jailed "for making a few videos online".
No, he was jailed because he's a serial stalker.
She also said that he should be released early because he has elderly parents
Perhaps he should have thought about that before doing what he did. Personally, I'd make his sentence much longer.
The argument is he's a political prisoner. He upset Whine who can't cope with any criticism and is part of the wider "elite" of the media. Belfield was also very naive - probably stupid - by not moving on to other targets and keeping a select few going.

He'd had served longer than some rapists, some death by dangerous driving cretins, kiddie fiddlers etc. All for hurty words that a suing session would have sorted.

Classic whataboutery.
His sentencing was in line with the guidelines. The sentences for other crimes and offences are nothing to do with it.

@ subsub.

No whataboutery, unless you are saying guidelines shouldn't be questioned. If not why not, as some clearly do not bring justice for the victims of crime.

I think it's fair to use examples, where some criminals get tougher or more lenient sentences than others, and justice has not been seen to have been done.

Personally, I'm happy with a tough sentence for stalkers, but very unhappy with some of the joke sentences for serious crimes.

then the guidelines are stupid. He's been hit by a double whammy of both a criminal conviction and being hit in the civil courts for claims. The irony? This will force him to come out and do the same again as he made money from it first time round. Different targets yep.

And the fact that he still is in a cat C when he's about as tough as George from Rainbow is fucking disgusting and heaps on to the point - he's there for political reasons not for justice.

He made a women's life miserable because the BBC sacked him, he gets what he deserves.

Have you known someone who has been properly stalked and not hurty words?

Nope. Wasn’t found guilty of that. Jeremy Whine an elitist got upset. That’s all.
