He strikes me as a fairweather supporter. I remember listening to his solo overnight show on talkSPORT in the late noughties when he was a firm supporter of Labour, the party in power at the time. Years later during his and Porky's coverage of the EU referendum, if memory serves me right, he admitted to voting against Brexit. Another switch: his stance on the Royal Family. He was a sycophantic, blubbering mess when the Queen passed away despite openly criticising the future of the monarchy a few years before:
