Some notes regarding week 16

1. One game postponed this week Grimsby v Boreham Wood so another 11 games in week 17 to catch up. We have 3 weeks to go until the end of Season A and all is up for grabs.

2. In League 1 Carlos's strategy of 1-2 and 2-1 paid off and he top scored with 13 points and a tremendous 4 correct scores.Another good week for Shedboy who was runner up with 10 points and 2 correct scores to close the gap between the bottom 2 to 5 points.DA still tops the table but Carlos has joined him on the same points at the top

3.In League 2 Sid top scored with 13 points including a tremendous 4 correct scores and Jonathan was runner up with 8 points and 2 correct scores.Alex still tops the table but Sid's great score sees him level on points with Alex with Jonathan 1 point behind.

4.Easiest game to predict was Plymouth v Wigan with 7 correct scores


5. Most difficult to predict was a tie between the 2 championship games Stoke v Blackburn and Swansea v Reading where no predicted the winner.

6. Week 17 fixtures being posted later.

7. The two division now incredibly tight at the top with 3 weeks to play.

Some notes from week 17 fixtures

1. Delboy and Maaaarning topped league 1 scoring 14 points including 3 tremendous correct scores.
DA was next with 11 points and 2 correct scores. That return to form has given DA a 4 point lead over Carlos with 2 weeks to go.
Shedboys recent good form has now taken him to 4 points behind Henry at the foot of the table with 2 weeks to go

2.Sid Pervcat top scored in league 2 with 10 points and 2 correct scores.That has taken him to the top of the table 4 points ahead of Alex and 6 points ahead of Jonathan.Holden was runner up on 9 points.

3.Easiest to pick was Aston Villa 2 Leicester 1 with 5 correct scores


4. Most difficult to pick was QPR 0 STOKE 2 where 3 [Suhari,Happy Ram and Tind]predicted a Stoke Win but no correct scores.


5.Week 18 [penultimate week]fixtures will be up shortly .Back to a normal week of 10 fixtures.

Some notes on week 18 fixtures

1. Well the last week but one over and done with and lots still up in the air.The last week no 19 will have 11 fixtures to make up the week 18 cancellation .

2. In League 1 Subsub continued his recent good run top scoring with 11 points and 2 correct scores.Runner up was Suhari with 10 points and 2 correct scores.

3.In League 2 Citizens top scored with 11 points and 2 correct scores .Shabbado runner up with 9 points consisting only of 3 correct scores.Amazing stuff !

4. As we go into the last week of season A all is to play for as follows

LEAGUE 1

DA extends his lead to 5 points from Carlos in 2nd and Subsub in 3rd a further 4 points adrift.DA's to lose but anything can happen in Fools Panel

At the foot of the table the bottom 3 are fighting it out.At present Shedboy is in the automatic relegation position 4 points behind Henry who is in the playoff position against 3rd in League 2.Gertcha is only a point in front of Henry and the rest look to be safe

LEAGUE 2

3 Players at the top of the table covered by 2 points.Currently despite a poor week Sid remains in the lead a point ahead of Alex and 2 points ahead of Jonathan.

As it stands Sid would be champion and promoted ,Alex would be runner up and promoted and Jonathan would play off against Gercha.Winner plays in League 1 next season,loser plays in league 2.No one else is near these 3 players.

5. Easiest game to predict was Sunderland 2 Plymouth 1 with 7 correct scores.

6. Most difficult was a tie between
Peterborough v Millwall
Newport v Port Vale
Both had 15 not going for home wins

Some notes regarding final fixtures week 19 and the end of the season

1. Fools panel 7 Covid 4 was the final week and we were fortunate to get 7 games to count considering the many postponements.

Every one played those 7 games except Tind who missed out and that completes Season A -2021.

Season B -2022 start is a bit up in the air but hopefully will start Mid January ,details to follow after the year.

2 The final fixtures did not yield many points and in League 1 three of the top 4 CARLOS J,MAAAARNING and SUB SUB top scored with 5 points and 1 correct score.

In League 2 KEVIN and SHABBADO top scored with 6 points and 1 correct score.

3. The easiest game to predict was Nottingham Forest 2 Hull 1 with 6 correct scores

4.The most difficult to predict was Livingston 1 Ross County 1 where only Holden picked the draw and got the correct score as well

5. The roll of honour and a tinge of disappointment was as follows

WINNER - DA- 131 PTS 25 CORRECT SCORES

RUNNER UP - CARLOS J -129 POINTS 20 CORRECT SCORES

RELEGATED -SHEDBOY- 104 PTS 14 CORRECT SCORES

PLAY OFF - HENRY - 107 PTS 15 CORRECT SCORES

Well done DA another title,Carlos you ran him close right until the end

Hard luck Shedboy you made up a lot of ground this past month but you rejoin League 2

Henry lives to fight another week with a playoff against 3rd in League 2 .A win keeps him in League 1 but a defeat drops him into League 2


LEAGUE 2

This went right to the wire and ended up as follows

WINNER AND PROMOTED -SID PERVCAT -133 PTS 22 CORRECT SCORES

RUNNER UP AND PROMOTED -ALEX 131 PTS 27 CORRECT SCORES

3RD AND PLAY OFF -JONATHAN 129 POINTS 22 CORRECT SCORES

Sid came on strong in the last 6 weeks and overhauled long time leader Alex but it was nip and tuck right to the end.
Also in that group was Jonathan who led the table on more than one occasion.
Jonathan fights another day in a play off against Henry ,if he wins he is promoted to League 1,a defeat he stays in League 2
Big congratulation to Sid and Alex on their efforts and promotion

6. Play off game will be on the forum tomorrow between Henry and Jonathan.
You can PM me your results if required.Once both are in I will publish your selections on the forum.

Hope everyone has enjoyed this season and playing Fools Panel has taken your minds off Covid for a few hours every week.
I have enjoyed putting it together and hope all of you will play in Season B.
