Windows 10
Somehow, becasue I'd never come across it before, Flight Mode has come onto the laptop. It stops access to the internet and I can't disable it. Clicking on the icon has no effect.
Any suggestions for someone who's limit is pressing a few buttons for internet and e-mail.
This using a borrowed laptop

Re: Flight mode problem
Go to Start (Windows icon bottom left hand corner of screen)
>Settings
>Network & Internet
>Airplane Mode
then slide the top switch left to OFF
See if that works.

Re: Flight mode problem
I tried that a't slide and the sliding switch wouldn't slide. I also tried system restore but that doesn't seem to work.
I'm getting wary of pressing anymore buttons so think I'll consult a local computer shop

Re: Flight mode problem
I am shamed and embarrassed.
The chap at the computer shop solved my problem in around 10 seconds. He showed me the little switch, which I had inadvertently moved when loading a disk. Inadvertent because I had no idea it was there. Pressing the switch cuts off wi-fi and internet access and flight mode takes over.
And before it is said; yes I am almost completely functionally computer illiterate.

Easily done, it wasn't your machine so you weren't to know.VeritasVincit wrote: ↑Fri Oct 01, 2021 3:04 pm I am shamed and embarrassed.
