My card had to be cancelled because of online fraud. They’re sending me a new one but it takes 5 to 7 days. Will I be able to use Apple Pay it will that not work either ? I was told if I go the bank with photo I’d I can withdraw money.

If you use that card on Apple Pay it won't work.

I use these for my oiks, you should be able to get it in 2 days then once you've got your new card you can unload it. I keep one in the car with £50 in it just in case.

Not going to help you, Leado, but a month or so ago, couldn't take cash out (like some notes) but contactless was fine. Went to bank and a problem with the card chip, all sorted.

Don't you have a second card, like a credit card?

No. I’ve never really needed a credit card.

My dads lent me some cash but I feel lost without my card, and I’ll have to update a few online accounts with new card details which is annoying. At least I got my money back.

You're mad to do anything contactless or online with a debt card.

Because your debit card is a directly link to your bank account, if someone gets those details you're hoping the bank's anti-fraud system works because they have direct access to your bank account.

If you use a credit card the issuing company are legally 100% liable for any fraud and have to pay you back because it is classed as a loan. and the credit card isn't linked to your bank account in any way shape or form.

I only use a credit card, my debit card never leaves the house and isn't linking to my phone payment system.

But a credit card isn’t your money and they charge you interest

Not if you pay it back every month, which is what I do.

Sage words Vespa. I wouldn’t pay for anything material on a debit card anymore. Settle the credit card balance monthly so no interest and loyalty points so it’s win/win

Look online, no question as mentioned credit cards are safer than debit cards for a variety of reasons especially for online transactions. You can also put them on Apple Pay which is as you know highly secure so you can use it up to it's theoretical limit without having to to carry it around.
