I’ve been on holiday on my own a few times. It can be awkward at times but I feel I deserve a holiday and other people are in the same boat. Staying in hostels can be a good way to meet other travellers.

Travelling alone is good as it forces oneself to take full responsibility for their own welfare. It forces them to take the initiative to meet people where they go , and deal with the nuts and bolts of travelling i.e currency, transport, language, fact finding, medicines and so on.

Much better to do it when of younger age and fitter. As one gets older they prefer companionship and luxury, such as those offered by resort/package holidays.

Most of my friends have family commitments . I might go to america for my 40th. Visit some national parks or possibly go skiing
