I've been to Butlins twice once in 1973 on a wholesome family holiday and once in 2016 on an 80's Weekender, where my Freddie Mercury was met with great aplomb, and no Jim Davidson at either event.
Also it was the same camp both times.

CAn't they simply rebrand as a fat-shaming camp?

Pontins is the Butlins shit ginger stepson. Though have been to Pontins Pakefield a few times. Took my nephew as a massive snooker fan and player.

Pros: Get free on the snooker, arrars, tennis, table tennis, pitch and putt. Shite entertainment. All you can eat breakfast and evening meal.

Cons: Pontins, Kessingland. Shite chalets, sometimes bad smelling, awful beds, shite entertainment. The Great British Public.

Though was all good when there. Watching bad wrestling in the afternoon and the worst cover bands in the evening. Sadly they let it get more rundown, took the chap who run the sports area out, and lo, feral kids were taking the piss (not a) on the snooker tables.

A few years ago, it decided to go over 18s only for the special weekenders of music and err swinging probably.
