It’s odd how some pundits get used a lot and others don’t. the competent Alvin Martin is a very peripheral figure now at TS but the incompetent Clinton Cards is all over the place not just on TS but on the BBC and elsewhere. Perhaps I’m missing something.

Alvin seems a very nice chap but he's not very articulate. I guess he's on at all because he sounds northern (Clayton: tick) but is associated with a London club (Clayton: tick). But once he's run through his 'everyone you mention I'll find something positive to say about them' routine he's pretty much finished for the day.

Insufferable. A bit like Simon Jordan. Absolutely thick as shit but has just enough confidence about him to pretend he isn't. It pays off to a certain crowd. But if one got past the reading phase at junior school, you know the bit, where you had the clear paper pressed over the letters and were taught the alphabet by copying the shape of the letters.
