If you upped your budget a bit you could get a decent brand, Panasonic, LG, Samsung etc...

Can't fail with Richer Sounds. Decent range, reasonably priced and people who know about the kit.

Couldn’t agree more. Bought a few from there over time. Also get a 6 year guarantee.black_guardian wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 2:38 pm Can't fail with Richer Sounds. Decent range, reasonably priced and people who know about the kit.

Most midrange TVs you buy in the UK all come from the same factory in Turkey, regardless of the brand name on the front.

What do you mean by "midrange" nowadays Colin, anything that isn't Panasonic, Sony and Samsung?

Wasn't sure Ghost, although I thought I read somewhere that LG make TV panels (must be OLED ) for most high end manufacturers which'll mean yes they are premium.
Oh, glad I convinced myself there.

Do you have an OLED?
I'm still looking for a replacment for my large plasma as it requires a small generator to power it but not convinced picture quality I've seen is any better.

They will be Sid, especially as they make OLED panels for others which are the superior panel to have over LCD and all the other variances.
I still have a 60" Pioneer Kuro plasma which I bought used for a couple of grand about ten years ago or so. It eats 500w, fine in winter as I can turn the radiator off not so much in high summer unless you like to sauna. It's basically another radiator. so I need to replace it. Having said that the picture is still superior to the screens I've seen at other household especially for sport.
