Which surely is what should happen?

She doesn’t look terribly uncomfy where she is, shouldn’t she be here being punished?
She lives in a tent in a prison camp, doesn't sound fun. At some point, Syria is either going to deport her or make the UK government pay them to keep her.
She looked quite well kept the other day, I’d say her life right now was more boring than punishment.
That’s a moot point. She’s watching GMB and dancing to Shakira ball accounts. Death would be preferable.

She'll keep trying and we will cave. Anyway, if she wants to get here so badly, she should jump on a dinghy in Calais.

She was born here, she's a British citizen. At some point, Syria is going to scoop up all the British people in those camps and ship them back.

The Gammon mental gymnastics when that happens is going to be quite astounding.

Send them back!!! Unless they're British citizens and they're trying to send them back to Britain. We don't want them! Britain for the British...
A joyless arsehole.

Yep a couple of years back.

On February 26, the United Kingdom’s highest court ruled Shamima Begum, a 21-year-old woman of Bangladeshi descent who was stripped of her British citizenship after travelling to Syria to join ISIL (ISIS), should not be allowed to return to the country to challenge the decision.

That's what she's appealing, they've essentially made her stateless which isn't legal.

I'm not sure about the legislation now, but at one time anyone born in a country took on that nationality, as with Boris Johnson, who was born in America and lived there until his parents moved back to UK when he was 5, he has since renounced his American nationality entitlement since, apparently settling a hefty tax bill which the US can levy on American nationals living abroad.

I think that the reasoning was that as her father is a Bangladeshi national she has dual nationality, but, apparently, Bangladesh doesn't want to acknowledge her as one of their nationals and say she is British, so now she's stateless.

She wasn't a dual national that's the issue.

I think the argument is that as her parents are Bangladeshi nationals she could claim Bangladeshi citizenship, but Bangladesh doesn't want her.

Bangladesh has a law where you are a citizen if your parents were born there.
