F1 2023

Post by Sid Pervcat »

New season upon us.

Aston Martin looking a surprisingly good package.
Verstappen still a whining cunt.
AWF...

Red Bull Procession.

Aston Martin getting more out of the merc engine than merc.
Decent Podium for alonso, underwhelming race.

Looks like another borefest for an entire season.

So was 1978, you may say, but at least in those days it wasn't so over-complicated that the casual viewer had to be looking at the rule-book to follow the race.

Andretti, Petersen, Lauda, Reutemann..Dirty V8's...what was not to like in the 70's?

Unlike the sanitised shit the FIA insist on giving us nowadays.

In my opinion not so much sanitised as over-complicated.
Yeah, sure, allow the cars to change tyres, but why have to change to an unsuitable set at some point in the race?
Yeah, sure, encourage overtaking, but not just by pressing a button to open the DRS. That's the opposite of "exciting".

The joke is that they all have to slow down in the last few laps "to save the tyres". Not exactly a race, then, is it?

Emilia Romagna Grand Prix cancelled due to heavy flooding. Looking at the pictures, I can’t see why they just can’t attach some waterskis to the cars and make the race a bit more exciting. Come on F1 bosses, pull your fingers out.

Imola, as everyone used to call it until 3 days ago.

Imola is the name of the circuit, Emilia Romagna is the name of the Grand Prix.

We're in an "Upton Park" situation, suddenly renamed "The Boleyn Ground" a few years ago, out of trendiness :-)

Nope.
It was never called the Imola Grand Prix.

They used to run 2 Grands Prix at Imola- San Marino and Emilio Romagna.

Both Distinct from the Italian GP which is run at Monza.
