Just been watching, on Youtube, some Tiswas excerts. Brilliant.
You have to be a certain age to know what it was. You youngsters missed out.
Of course some people only watched it for Sally James.

The difference between TISWAS and Swapshop was as night and day. As Chris Tarrant pointed out, his show actually had children on it, front and centre.

Some people can cope when live telly goes wrong, and some can't. The TISWAS crew were magnificent at it; that was often the best bit.
It's also worth pointing out that they were all old enough to have children themselves and treated the kids in an un-cringey way, unlike, say, Timmy "I'm mad, me" Mallett.

Swap Shop was watched by nice middle-class children, Tiswas by the rest of us - and 'the rest of us' does include adults.
