A scam? Surely not.

Post by VeritasVincit »

My latest e-mail. Unless I can find the problem with it, I'll have to respond.

It's normally just "John" when it's obviously a Nigerian scam.
Years ago I had an old wanadoo email account, and I was always getting spam emails. The best sender's name was "Gethin Cervais"

The Nigerian scammers usually don't understand how western names work, its why a lot of them use two first names in their letters.
A legendary one on a scam baiting forum I frequent was called "Paul Andy" who waited nearly a year for a consignment of rolex watches, x boxes and ten grand cash.
The scam biter at on point got him to travel all the way to ghana, to wait 6 hours in a hotel lobby for a courier who surprisingly never showed up.

On an actual computer you can hover the cursor over the email address, and at the bottom left-hand side of the screen it will tell you the real link you're clicking on.
You can't, of course, do that on a phone, so you'll never know if the link is in the Cyrillic alphabet, or takes you to a generic "nothing to do with the BBC" site :-)

RegProtect will safeguard you from these perils and for what many might consider to be a reasonable fee. It uses the very latest DetectiveDerek algorithm to cunningly spot spam early on, or at least after 50-60 clues. I swear by it.

Nothing wrong with it. I've been paying a £1000 a month for the licence fee the past six months, worth every penny.

Sometimes I feel like replying to these cunts with something like "Oi, Libby! Now m8! Fook off ya bastard" to see how they respond.

Wouldn't they have my name and email address? That's why it's called phishing.
