The first point is, as far as ITER in concerned, Brexit has made no difference, as the UK had an invitation to join. The second point is, we have left the EU so we can do things on our own, and in this case we have opted to do so, despite having an invitation.

Since brexit, the UK lost access to ITER, something sorely lamented by UK scientists.

The EU has subsequently made a generous offer to steadily return to the ITER fold and the UK still refuses, in fear of upsetting the gammons.

Scientists here don't regard it as a win at all.

After all, the EU lost £9b that the UK were paying into the corrupt system, a loss which, if reports are correct, has affected quite a number of EU projects which cannot be fulfilled due to, err, lack of money.
