Whilst collapsed my leg was trapped. So was taken from Norfolk and Norwich hospital to Papworth as they are heart specialists. So had a valve inserted and aorta sorted which is life threatening surgery. Had to call mum in the early hours to let her know.lambrini wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 12:27 pmFucking yikes™ !! Sorry to read this, Carlos. May I ask, have they found out the cause of your condition? You seemed in pretty good fettle health-wise.Carlos J wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 10:40 am Thanks. Only saw it yesterday as still building up time here.
I'm fine, can walk about 50m without frame now, and cognition is good. Best thing is waiting for two necrotic toes on left leg to fall off. Vascular Dr at Addenbrookes says they have dry gangrene and will just fall off.
Fun times ahead.
Then they got other surgeons from Addenbrookes to sort the leg.
Had a Fasciotomy where they cut the leg to relieve pressure and stop potential Rhabdomyolysis. Sometime during all this had an ECG where they found out I'd also had a stroke.
So am under cardiac and vascular surgeons.
Leg causes a lot of pain which nearly on top of. Two necrotic toes all well wrapped up.
Cardiac issues - have scans in July to see how aorta doing and if further surgery needed. And ongoing stroke rehab and physio.
But hey, I'm alive and walking about albeit slowly.
Should recover cognition to pre-stroke times. Just do it slowly.
On the plus side CJ, Necrotic Toes is a banging metal band name.
