Jonny Owen & Friends

Post by Carlos J »

Jonny Owen and Mark 'Webbo' Webster and football culture. Sounds horrific. Missed last week, snoozing now to it and a nice gentle listen. Webster professional enough, Owen seems personable with a gentle Welsh lilt, not all coal in mouth vowels. And both old enough to remember old football when the FA Cup Final was a day long thing.

Nice and easy as Sunday morning shows should be.

So much better than Baker's socalled comedy quiz, Gliory Hunters. Not hard though. At least someone in commissioning has got one right for a change.

Think it was always a limited run. Sure when it started, it was supposed to be a cup format, but seemed to go by the wayside, probably due to Covid.

Yet sadly Baker clings on. He’s another Clayton pet project.

Top guests on Sunday, Robert Plant and Paul Weller, live, not pre-records and err on a pre-record, Piers Morgan.

Tis a good, gentle Sunday morning listen.

Bring it all home to me on perma repeat needs looking at. Apart from that, fairly inoffensive.

...becoming increasingly apparant that this circle of 'friends' is restricted only to people who have acted with or been directed by Johnny Owen and/or his wife Vikki McClure...obviously an exclusive club and one which has quickly become tiresome and boring

Not for me..another couple of hours of Rushden and Glendenning is infinitely preferable

Only listened to an hour or so once. They had Gendry on from Game of Thrones. It was very boring.

Edith Bowman was on the other week talking about her beloved Man Utd.

Cringe.

It is very very cringey. Its very Andy Goldstein. "I'm old but I'm cool" the absolute epitome of cringe. "Remember that Forest team that won the European cups? Wow what a team" "ah Brazil 70, they have to be the coolest side ever"

At least they took my advice on bring it on home by changing it but it is just really chummy and dull.

Fordey on today. He's got the spitting image gig, despite his "bits” as bojo n the Donald being more worserer than Michael "Mick" Quinn attempting any form of joke. But then spitting image belongs in eighties along with this cosy cardigan club luvvy shitfest that webbo now has soiled himself with.
