Alcohol : how often or do you not drink at all?

How often do you drink alcohol? Or maybe you don't drink it at all.

I can go days, weeks without drinking. Or sometimes have a 2 out of 3 days where I'll be quite drunk. I do like a tear up now and again yet maybe, who knows, if I could, but think I could go months if I put my mind to it without one.

I love a drink after 3-4 weeks of living good, I enjoy the various stages of getting drunk. Merry, or even the 2nd pint good vibes - it's your first beer in ages and its going down a treat. It can make the most mundane, trivial shit disapear for a few hours when liquered up too.

I enjoy a solo pint too. I can go to an old pub and have 1-2 and home for 7pm. It's a tradition in the UK, the pub and the pint and a fantastic one. Sound like I've been on the liquor already with this ramble ; but I plan on getting drunk tomorrow with a pal and can't wait after 3 weeks of work, and mundane yet healthy living.

Who here loves a bevie? Or does not drink at all. We drink a lot as a nation, christenings, weddings, Christmas Day etc many are absolutely smashed. I know some people who turn after a drink, as the great Alan Brazil once said to Porky "Rupert is weird, Porky. He turns after a few too many, he's like you." so guessing Rupe is a bit of a nasty prick when drunk but if I had to apologise the next day, week, month, event due to always being an arsehole on the drink then I would give it up. Occasionally, maybe but it mostly agrees with me and that 3rd or 4th pint - either listening to old tunes, or a fun YouTube dive or just sitting in your favourite boozer in a city or town you love, that feeling is just magic.

Lovely post, Kev. "Who loves a bevvie?" Me! I like going to a regular pub with friends now and again — not a group of people, just one good friend — and getting merry. There's a few lively pubs in town: Spice, the Blue Posts, the French House. I stick to 3 to 5% pale ale rather than spirits.

None since April. Miss the few pints buzz. Not the same with some Apple & Blackcurrant squash.

Down to a glass/bottle of red with food now and then. Never had much capacity but lost the taste for beer but like decent cider especially in summer.

Have now acquired a weird and wonderful collection of Amaro (like the graphics) , so experimenting with long drinks and cocktails when it takes me. Negronis and the like which impresses guests sometimes.

I was out when it was hot a month or so ago and I over indulged, ending up with an awful hangover. Aside from thinking at my age I should know better, ever since then I’ve completely gone off drinking other than an occasional glass of wine. More than likely to keep it that way now.
