There must be someone old enough with a good memory to recall a TV programme when a referee had a mike. I faintly remember it was a Division 1 match, and I think Wolves was one of the teams.
There was one part of the 'conversation' from the referee with something on the lines of; "If you call me a wanker once more........"

There was a programme where the Ref got mic’d up in 1989. The game in question was Millwall at home to Arsenal. Someone, somewhat unfortunately, hadn’t informed the Arsenal players this was going ahead. So during the game the Millwall players were acting all angelic and as if butter wouldn’t melt. Meanwhile Tony Adams and the boys were giving the officials both barrels at every opportunity.

George Graham even went to remonstrate with officials in their changing room, but quickly made a hasty retreat upon spying the tv film crew in there.
