U2 in Vegas

Post by JudgeTedd »

U2 are probably the dullest band in the World, but even I must admit this looks incredible.

Very generous. Can’t help be feel that pillock Bono gets in the way of that big screen. That venue will be amazing once he and his tuneless mates vacate it.

Never understood the appeal of U2. One of the most overrated bands of all time.

^^^ Were you even born in 1980?

I have some of the early stuff...Boy, UBRS, The Unforgetable Fire etc when they were still pretty raw. They've produced some good stuff since imo just not enough for me to further invest in them. Folks often get a bit snooty when a band achieves mega status and are so long-lived and popular.

As for the sphere, first thing I'd want to know is what it's like to be a goldfish.

:dart:
They tailed off hugely after Pop, but for a few albums they were fantastic.
Bit cringe to see them in their 60s trying to recreate the 1990s, but not harming anyone, I suppose.

The reasons to avoid Vegas just keep mounting.

All their albums up to and including Rattle & Hum and The Joshua Tree were class. A great band in the eighties. They went a bit shit after The Fly really and they went a bit too much on a world stage which was inevitable. Lost their appeal.

You're looking at a girl who knows her music. While some of their early stuff is pretty decent – Boy, War, The Joshua Tree – the latter is one of the albums that defined the '80s – they've been overrated for years. Bono is an absolute tube.
