Austin Montego Estate

I should never have forgotten that one .. it only got stolen and used in an art heist in Welwyn Garden City. Aggravation that caused me !!

it shows how sad my life was/is.

As soon as i could, i was buying....never found that absolute keeper, or did but didnt realise it at the time, or had to sell due to circumstance...here in canada i own dozens, and i am watching their slight worth diminish as peoplke's spending habits mirror what is going on globally

i think the older cars are more than just cars, they are memories or conversation starters or connections to memories from the past

i am putting the hours in at the mo, and things are getting tight financially, so the frivolous 'i haven't had one of those before' purchases have stopped and some attempt at heard thinning is ongoing.

in canada, there's a 15 year rule for non domestic market, usa is 25 yea. last year, i delivered my 71 911 targa to deepest darkest montana, my blackbird to tacoma en route to nashville and my regret was being talked into letting my 888 go. I didn't ride it much as it is tiny as i got fatter, and footpegs made for lil italians and japs, but to hear it, it was like thunder, with so many trick parts on it.

I spent a small fortune last month at an auction on vintage alloy wheels...regretted it but now quite pleased.

i am about to start prepping my old rover to be sold in the spring, a 67 p5 and i am hunting for a p5b....i might be heading to europe depending on funds to pick one or two up, but if something is worth say 30k, in all reality with purchasing and then associated crap for getting it on the road, you need to be buying at 18 to break even. With a strong wind, a 1k cad jappa will stand you at 6 to 7k on the road here and thats with barely an oil change.

I look at what i have lost and it's a bit silly, made some too, but not up overall i wouldn't think....it's why i posted the addictions thread.....makes no sense....i can only drive one at a time, and getting rid of a load of shitters, i could have had one or two real beauties....

I have a list of cars i still want.....very few are attainable, and as prices slow and even go down, my financial position goes backwards so i make no gains

my perceptions of cars changes with engine size and makes no sense...an e30 325i...yes please, an e34 525i...one grade above poverty spec...same drive train...and now, a perverse liking for poverty spec cars....yet, surrounded by yank tanks, having owned plenty....no real love or affinity for them.....

Currently an Audi wanker πŸ˜ƒ
As am I, but as my A4 is 15 years-old now I consider it exempt from wanker status. Plus the fact that it barely scrapes through its inspection (MOT) yearly, thus saving me the cost of a monthly HP* payment is cause for celebration.

*Do people still refer to HP?
If I could get lucky I'd secede from the states
I'd buy the country at an incredible rate
