Re: State of the Forum
I'm using Firefox to post this. I can't log in with Chrome because the login page isn't secure. (And Chrome in it's wisdom doesn't have the option "sod it, do it anyway".)
With Firefox it's telling me it isn't secure but allows me to log in anyway. With Chrome it doesn't tell me it's not secure but lets me go through the motions of logging in, and on the next page the url has the session cookie on the end but the forum says I'm not logged in.
It worked yesterday. I assume Mark is in the process of making changes?

Re: State of the Forum
just switched the dns records to an external set of nameservers, away from GoDaddy. Hopefully this will fix the problem of DNS not resolving across servers.

Re: State of the Forum
Anybody who has been having problems since we got back online, please try again now as we have moved the nameservers to an external service. Thanks to the provider of that service

Re: State of the Forum
you can stop using it - it is the IP address of the website so keep a note of it somewhere for future use if required.

Re: State of the Forum
Also doing a purge of the site cache and login sessions to clean up any loose ends that might be washing around the lower ends of the site.

Re: State of the Forum
Just logged back in successfully using Microsoft Edge, for the first time since the problems.
Nothing is working on Chrome, my preferred browser.
Anything I can do?
Thanks,
Tennisman

Re: State of the Forum
Probably best to delete any cookies, save passwords or cached information about the forum from chrome.
The do a clean login via https://talkforum.co.uk
Allow it to save whatever information you want from that login.
