Has anyone tried it or know people who have tried it?

Horses for courses, works for some not others. I had a course for a neck problem many years ago now, and it helped me a lot. On the other hand I have heard stories from people who said it didn't help them at all.
It's something I would try if other treatments had failed.

I agree.
Think it depends on the skill of the practitioner. More chance of success if yhe practitioner is highly skilled

Re: Acupuncture
I’ve tried it, very sceptical at first, but the practitioner was Cambridge education 70 year old bloke and explained what was going on and why.
Went to help reduce stress/give me energy, and despite my scepticism, it actually worked

Re: Acupuncture
Of course it works. They use it as an anaesthetic to perform major surgery in China.
The only reason it won't work is if the "practitioner" doesn't know what they're doing and that happens because any silly bugger can set up doing it here.
What you must understand though, is that in almost all cases, it won't cure the ailment , must take away the pain.

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

Sounds like the opening sentence of a victim statement.

this is very true.
I remember a story in the papers many years ago about a British based surgeon going to study acupuncture in China after seeing a patient receive brain surgery which involved having the top of his skull cut off while still conscious. The anaesthetic was nothing more than a few strategically placed needles in the right place.

Thumbs-up from me.
