Heard/read that Sunak says he will debate with Starmer then read/heard that Starmer said he wanted it to be the same format as in 2019?.JimmyDee wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 11:44 am Oh, fucking hell ... they want a Debate between the leaders.
At least an hour of Prime-time TV given over to something no-one wants and no-one needs and which no ordinary voter will watch.
What a marvellous use of all the Earth's electricity.
"I let you speak, now you let me speak" and so on.
Just interview them one at a time, if you absolutely have to, and then clip the highlights to Youtube or "X-formerly-Twitter", and then fuck off.
Most people, let's face it, know right now how they'll vote. What's the fucking point in any of this?
At least it will give some folk the opportunity to catch up on things they have recorded and not watched

Yes he has a terrible oration, they both do in their own way. Tbf the last PMQ's I heard a couple of weeks back a decent joke/script writer must have slipped through because Starmer was unusually comical but he should be demolishing him 4/5 on their record and quite easily.birdie wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 11:30 am Starmer has always been poor, whether on the radio or at PMQ''s, he doesn't seem able to process the answer to the question but just reads off his script, like one of those cold call bods reading who have to get to the bottom of the page before he gets cut off.

Problem is Sunak is a poor public speaker. I doubt Starmer is worried by debating Sunak he just doesn't want to do many of thembirdie wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 11:30 amStarmer has always been poor, whether on the radio or at PMQ''s, he doesn't seem able to process the answer to the question but just reads off his script, like one of those cold call bods reading who have to get to the bottom of the page before he gets cut off.antdad wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2024 11:16 amProbably, which is also why he's hedging towards TV debates where Rishi's tech bro grasp of the detail will he thinks give him an advantage but it'll just end up being a meaningless stat bash wank fest. Still, genuinely shocked how poor Starmer was this morning on the radio.

Beeb news reporting that Jezza is standing as an Independent, also putting forward the idea that a decision on whether la Abbott will have the whip restored may be made today, and certainly before parliament prorogued on Friday.
The Islington result should be a good watch, if anyone can be arsed to stay up that late.

Wonder if the actual workers wondered who the interlopers were.

I like Michael, always had the feeling he was smarter than whatever leader he had. Good luck to him.

A rat to the end. He knows the tories can't keep up the false promises they've given the British electorate, and his own seat is under threat of no longer being blue.
Perfect time to bail out. Gets to avoid a possible Portillo moment.

Sorry to see Gove go, he's one who always upheld the standards of the Chamber. Whenever I've seen him in debate he never lost his tempter despite, sometimes, the grossest provocation from the opposition c*nts.
At 57 he's still young enough to get a consultancy some where and he leaves an 18k majority so the seat is probably safe.
Waits for the usual c^nts to bring up a clip to prove me wrong, but hey ho, I don't mind, why spoil the only enjoyment in life they have.
