My dog

Post by VeritasVincit »

Not a good time in the vincit household.
There's a problem with having a dog. You outlive them, so sooner or later this happens. It's happened to me six times and it never gets easier.

This old [14] chap finally gave up. His legs wouldn’t work and he had to have special pet transport and a stretcher to get him to the vet for the final time.
Since I adopted him over five years ago, apart from his holidays in the luxury kennels, he’s been with me every day. The house now seems very empty.

Sad news, VV. :(
Maybe she's born with it, maybe it's Maybelline.

Sorry for your loss VV, I recall you regaling us with a tale of you or was it him rolling down a hill after each other.

Try and remember the good times if you can.

Yes it was both of us, into a nettle bed. But never felt them.

People who've never had pets don't understand how upsetting it is when you have to say goodbye to them. Even a cat, and generally they don't exactly smother you in affection, was part of your life.

I remember the nettle story! Most amusing ... sorry, but it was :-)

Just seen this VV, really sorry for you boss. :goodman:

The awful paradox of having a beloved pet is, no matter how happy and wonderful your time is together, it always ends in heartbreak.

If it’s any consolation, your story about going arse over tit in the woods was comedy gold. :D

And I hope the mighty reds gave you a bit of a gee up on Saturday.
