Couldn't believe he was 70. Only seems like yesterday he was in the pool winning medals.

He opened a sports shop when I was a kid and I had my photo taken with him. RIP.

He packed in at 22 it says, so he was a long time retired in a way. You'd see him doing commentary and pundit work much later on.
He was an early sports memory for me. I was born in 68, I
can't really remember much before about 76 or so. I remember John Curry at that same time as well.

I remember Wilkie well, born to a Scottish family ..him winning Gold was exceptional
