Where's Bas gone, Steve? I took a break for a couple of weeks recently as wanted to see whether my productivity, commitment to my job and quality of work improved. Fatigue seems to set in when posting on here on a frequent basis. When this place supercedes what happens in one's own life, it's time really to take a serious sanity check.

Similar thing near my offices in Plymouth recently. Major road works but it caused chaos because they kept digging up phospher bombs and shut all the roads for hours and hours. Three times over about 10 days. Turns out they were from a long forgotten WW2 Yank army base. Local RN UXB specialists took them out to sea and had fun with them.

I always tend to think there comes a time when we need to metaphorically empty the jails and start again. The usual lot get banned for something sooner or later but it does tend to spark the place into life for a bit.

Plus we get regular updates on Pele and whether the German death camps really existed.

Plus, of course, you are going to have people leaving for all sorts of reasons (ie: Rupe RIP ).

But the forum has one major problem, as I see it. It is losing posters at a far greater rate than it is attracting new ones.

That can only mean it will fade into obscurity if the situation is not promptly reversed.

It' been there for best part of 80 years and sod all has ever happened but the second they find it there's a cordon around it and they're treating it like they can hear it ticking and it's about to blow.

As luck would have it all my work today and yesterday is either at one end of the problem or the other so I thought fuck it, I'm off home as nothing is moving anywhere around the place or any of the alternative routes.

Couldn't they just air lift the fucking thing and drop it in the nearest reservoir rather than go to all these lengths that just fuck everyone about.

I feel sorry for the commuters who's daily struggle's been compounded by this shit. The cunts on BBC Midlands Today and at the Evening Mail are probably wanking themselves into a frenzy thinking this disruption has put the city on the map, finally. Wrong, you stupid bastards. Regions even in the fucking impoverished north east and Wigan are probably laughing at us.
