Phenomenal ending. The defection did the Kiwis.

Re: Cricket World Cup
The last 20 years of World Cups have been truly abysmal for England. I can think of four international trophies they should've won before this. They had plenty of luck today but I'll take it, we badly needed a World Cup in our cabinet.

Re: Cricket World Cup
That really is a shocking rule.
Hopefully England do the right thing and share the trophy. Can't win a game on some silly rule like that.

England finished higher in the group stages
Utterly astonishing that
Boundaries in the game and super over, Holden.
Happy to be corrected Carlos and just happy in general.
Ignore. I’m not thinking straight
But why did they say before the Kiwis started their over that they’d need 16 ?

Not really. It's no different to taking penalties at an end with the opposition fans in front of you in a shoot out.

Because England were ahead on boundaries so NZ had to beat the score not tie.

No different from pens really Kevin. There has to be a winner.

Eh...that's an utterly shite analogy
It's akin to drawing a game of football and then drawing the penalty shot out and the winners being decided by the team who had most shots on target.
A joyless arsehole.

Nah it's more like scoring more goals in the group stage and then the game ending in a draw after FT/ET and then being awarded the trophy.
The score says the same.
I am no oracle on anything in life especially cricket, but what a crap way to end a tournament.

Now this silly circus is over, there is a much more important matter of a Test Match with Ireland in 10 days time, back at Lords.
Better get straight back into those practice nets , first thing in the morning boys.
